Identifying whether termites are present is not easy because although they are swarming inside the wood that they have attacked, they move around noiselessly and don't leave any sawdust.
First of all, search for their presence in wood that is in contact with walls in basements or ground floors:
Beams that are giving way, small fragments of wood, blistered paint on skirting boards, etc.
Tiny black holes on walls or ceilings
Small threads on the surface of hard materials (concrete, stone, metal)
OUR ADVICE:
When termites are present inside a building, they ingest all wood and cellulose when moving from basement areas towards the roof, only leaving behind them a thin superficial shell.
Buildings often collapse or cave in.
Damage to
roof structures
REPRODUCTION:
The reproductive couple in a termite colony produces more than one million eggs per year.
BEHAVIOUR:
Termites live in underground colonies.
Workers move around all the time searching for food (wood, cardboard, paper, etc.).
They feed the rest of the colony.
